MICROGRANT
[CLOSED—decisions to be released in November]
For ISSUE II, we're giving out two $100 microgrants to BIPOC creators.
On account of COVID-19 and the extenuating situations of this year, EX/POST is opening applications for a microgrant opportunity. We will select two BIPOC winners, who will each receive $100 and the publication of a portfolio. Regardless of whether or not your work is chosen, all submissions will be considered for publication in EX/POST’s regular issues.
Applications will be open from September 1 to October 1. To submit, please email expostmag@gmail.com and put “MICROGRANT_{FIRST & LAST NAME}” in the subject line. In your email, we ask you to include the following:
1. Tell us about yourself and who you are as an artist. (max 300 words)
2. What are you working on? How will this microgrant support you? (max 300 words)
3. Attach a portfolio of your work. Up to half of it may be previously published work. Choose one option below—you do NOT have to submit all four.
NOTE: The below guidelines are loose; if you work in multiple genres or mediums, feel free to mix and match your work to form a portfolio that most accurately represents yourself.
- 3-5 poems
-1-3 works of fiction or nonfiction (under 7,000 words in total)
- 2 one-act plays under 10 pages each
- 5 pieces of art
